Launching with some kind of gentle fan-fayre, and candied blood oranges

Apparently, our connection to the National Grid’s megawattage happened without a hitch today, although that is to say we still have to connect things up inside - ready for the arrival of our 80 loaf deck oven on Monday. We’re confident enough though to plan some kind of soft launch event on Saturday February 12th we think. This feels a little tricky to get right, in that it will be good to get people in to sample our early wares and to practice our flow - but with things still taking shape… so a soft launch. We’ll save the ribbon cutting and paparazzi until a later date.

Counting down with 9 days to go now, our first aim for the 12th will be to produce 160 loaves of organic sourdough bread say, plus croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin, bombolini - awesome salad sandwiches… and then we’ll see.

We’ll have the coffee machine all fired up and Rounton Coffee on hand to dish the dirge with some grinding tunes and hot froth. We’ve insisted on a beautiful Brazilian Fair Trade bean for our house coffee - which the trendy chaps-in-chaps at East Rounton will roast up for us with aplomb. We’ll also stock bags of beans from their other coffee projects around the world, which we’ll grind to your requirements (Espresso, Cafetiere or Filter for example).
