The Waiting Room’s atmosphere and delicious homely food have attracted regular awards and commendations, including the last “Best Restaurant in The UK” that was awarded by the Vegetarian Society, and runner-up in The Observer’s Best UK Restaurant category in at least five of the last ten years. 

We create and serve generous, satisfying dishes using beautiful slow cooked vegetables, whole foods and organic dairy. Our food is carefully complimented with a great drinks list, comprising all organic wines and beers, locally produced fruit wines, really good juices and our own-label beer.

Our light, airy front room has a comfortable faded elegance, with high ceilings and generous tables. Our livelier conservatory back room has a darker, punk-cabaret vibe and makes a good party room.

As of September 2018 we have extended with a new bar next door, serving organic beers and wines – and fresh fruit cocktails.

We host regular regular live music and arts happenings in our back room, on Sunday nights.

Open Tuesday-Sunday 11.30-2.30pm and then from 6pm
