It’s a warm welcome back to The Waiting Room for Viz founder and one-time Sid the Sexist-wrangler turned live comedian Simon Donald, whose brand new show Satiscraptory celebrates his twelve years as a stand-up, from – in his own words – “the viewpoint that neither Chris Rock nor Michael McIntyre need look over their shoulder”.

He’s being modest… Simon’s last couple of shows at the Waiting Room, Him Off The Viz and School of Swearing, have been sold-out masterclasses in observational character comedy, and we’re sure that Satiscraptory (“Descriptive of something of a poor, but adequate standard, eg. BBC local radio, McDonald’s food”) will be an equally magnificent evening in our cosy backroom.

“Former Viz man, as funny with a microphone in his hand as he was with a pencil” – The Guardian
“Superb inventive comedy” – The Stage
“Cerebral filth” – The List
“Gloriously improper” – SkinnyAnd sterling support comes from legendary North-Eastern writer and raconteur Harry Pearson… writer of the seminal football travelogue The Far Corner, and a man who has spent a sizeable chunk of 2017 researching a new book about Belgium, so there’s the potential for tales of explicit derring-do in both Gent and Waragem.
